About CSIBER

CSIBER’s legacy is rooted in the vision of the Chhatrapati Shahu Institute of Business Education & Research Trust, established in 1976 by the eminent educationist and Chartered Accountant, (Late) Prof. Dr. A. D. Shinde, along with his committed colleagues. Their mission was clear—to provide high-quality professional education to the youth of South-West Maharashtra and Karnataka. Today, this vision continues under the dynamic leadership of CA Dr. R. A. Shinde (Managing Trustee), CA Shri Hrishikesh Shinde (Secretary), and the Board of Trustees, whose guidance has been instrumental throughout the institution’s formative challenges and its journey towards autonomy.

The Trust now manages 8 institutions across Kolhapur and Sangli districts, serving over 6,000 students and supported by 400+ employees. CSIBER, established in 1976 as a postgraduate teaching and research institute, holds a pioneering position in Maharashtra’s educational landscape. In 1987, it became the first institution in the region to introduce Computer and Environmental education.

As we celebrate 50 years (Golden Jubilee), CSIBER stands strong with 58 full-time qualified faculty members dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and consultancy. The institute offers a wide range of programs, including MBA, MCA, M.Sc. Cyber Security, MSW, and various undergraduate courses, addressing the region’s demand for professional education.

CSIBER has been at the forefront of educational reforms. In alignment with national educational policies, the institute embraced autonomy early and was granted Autonomous Status in 1995—becoming the first autonomous institute in Maharashtra. Recently recognized as an Empowered Autonomous Institute, CSIBER functions like a “mini university,” enabling continuous curriculum innovation.
